The mission of Safety Education and Outreach Department at IU School of Medicine is to help all children grow up to lead healthy, safe, and productive lives. We offer various materials to help you plan and present a bike safety course inclusive of all children. Materials available to be borrowed for your bike safety course include loaner bike helmets, traffic cones, traffic signs, and various sized bikes. If your school or organization is interested in hosting a bicycle safety course and you would like to reserve the materials, please complete the following Bicycle Safety Resource Request form. You will receive an email reply when your request is received and processed. For full consideration, please submit your request at least 30 days prior to your scheduled event. 1. Schedule a specific date and time to pick-up and return the bike safety resources. Materials are typically picked up 1 day before an event and returned 1-2 days after the event and can be picked up Monday through Friday. Failure to return the bike safety resources by the due date prevents others from being able to use the bike safety resources.
2. Keep the bike safety resources in a secure location. Borrower is liable for any loss to the bike safety resources. Upon return, the bike safety resources will be inspected. The Borrower agrees to provide the funding necessary to replace and/or repair a bike safety resource should the bike safety resources become damaged, broken, or lost during the loan period.
3. Return the bike safety resources by the due date set by the department. Materials typically are loaned for 2-3 days. Failure to return the bike safety resources by the due date prevents others from being able to use the bike safety resources and will restrict the future borrowing privileges of the borrower.
